From a strategy perspective, the plotline was obvious but still enjoyable and highly entertaining. There is a slight love triangle romance happening which I did not mind as it only served to enhance the mystery and moral quandaries of certain characters. I truly enjoyed the progression of Thora and her strong sense of honor and self sacrifice for the greater good of her people. I felt like a voyageur during the intricate games of the royalty and the ambiguous ones played by women. Not very often I feel such a strong connection to a character but I loved that we delved into the mind of a princess during her trials and tribulations to becoming queen. The love interests were compelling, the rivalries treacherous and betrayal stung like the blade of a thousand knives penetrating my core. The writing was intensely compelling as readers joined Thora on her journey towards becoming Theodosia Eirene Houzzara, Queen of Astrea.Īs a reader, the words of Ash Princess resonated deeply within me so much so that I was emotionally spent at the end.
